[EOL] SPI 128x64 Graphic LCD DisplayPart Number: CFAG12864T2-TFHThis 128x64 graphic LCD display module (CFAG12864T2-TFH) is thin, light, low-power, and LED backlit. This display is visible in all lighting situations, from darkness, normal office lighting, and up to bright sunlight, making it an excellent sunlight/daylight readable LCD solution.
This graphic LCD is a transflective, positive-mode display, the backlight may be turned off when there is sufficient ambient light to read the display. Turning the backlight off will further reduce the already low power consumption. This display is well suited for compact hand-held devices, or any application where a lot of display in a very small area is needed.
This LCD display has an integrated controller and voltage generating components mounted on the flexible tail. The tail connects to a standard 18-conductor 0.5mm pitch ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector:

Typical top contact: TE Connectivity 1-1734839-8 (DigiKey P/N A100297TR-ND)
Typical bottom contact: TE Connectivity 1-1734592-8 (DigiKey P/N A100286TR-ND)

This type of connector is mounted like any normal SMT component during your board's standard reflow cycle. The display can then be connected to the PCB at final assembly without soldering or tools.
This monochrome graphic LCD display is also available in a non-backlit version (CFAG12864T2-NFH).

Is this tiny display just a little too small? We have the CFAG12864U2-TFH, which is a similar display, only larger physical dimensions.
This display is a direct replacement for the CFAX12864T-TFH and CFAX12864T1-TFH which are no longer in production.

Summary:	The parts listed are being set to End of Life Status
Reason:	The controller chip used on these parts is a TAB (Tape-Automated-Bonding) chip. The manufacturer of that chip has discontinued the chip.
Impact:	The parts will not be available after Q1 2019. The last time buy is available, but the orders must be placed no later than January 28, 2019.
Recommendation:	Drop-in replacements for the parts listed will be available. The replacement parts will use the same controller chip mounted on the glass. The replacements part numbers will be: CFAG12864U3-TFH CFAG12864T3-TFH CFAG12864U3-NFH CFAG12864T3-NFH The CFAG12864U3-TFH and CFAG12864U3-NFH will be drop-in replacements. All dimensions and function will not change. The CFAGF12864T3-TFH and CFAG12864T3-NFH will have the same overall dimensions and function, but the Active area height will decrease by 1.84mm.
Availability:	The current parts may not be available after the deadline for the last time buy. The replacement parts should be available by Q2 2019
Response:	Customers should take advantage of the last time buy offer to ensure that they will have sufficient stock through Q1 2019.

Summary:	The tape carrier of the LCD controller chip has changed from the previous series of parts. This changes the areas where bends in the assembly are allowed.
Reason:	The LCD controller chip for the CFAX12864T/CFAX12864U family was discontinued by the chip manufacturer. Crystalfontz created the CFAG12864T2/CFAG12864U2 family as replacements. The new LCD controller chip used in the CFAG12864T2/CFAG12864U2 is mechanically different compared to the original controller. This difference changes the areas where bends in the assembly are allowed. The bendable area of the tail is marked by 3 green lines. On the old parts, the controller chip was mounted 5.5mm from the third green line. On the new tail, the controller chip is mounted 2.5mm from the third green line.
Impact:	For many applications, this change will not affect production. Please ensure that your application does not put undue force on the connection between the flex and the LCD glass. Please ensure that there is not undue bending or force on the flex in the area of the hard, inflexible chip.
Recommendation:	If your application does not put undue force on the connection or chip, then no change is needed.
