      176x220 2" Full Color TFT LCD
      Part Number: CFAF176220U-020T
    This 2" TFT screen can power up to 262K colors using 8-bit 8080 parallel, or down to 4k color. This module has an integrated Sitronix ST7775R controller.



The backlight on this display only requires 3.3v, making this a great choice for a screen in applications where high voltage requirements pose a problem.



Note that this display uses a solder down tail- designed to be soldered directly to corresponding pads on a PCB using a hot-bar soldering machine. This means the connection is both ultrathin and very low-cost. However, it also means this display may not be the optimal choice for hobbyists. Instead, we'd recommend a module with a ZIF tail.

The connector on the CFAF176220U-020T is a flex tail mated with a "COG" (chip on glass) display construction. This style of connector is designed to be soldered directly to corresponding pads on your PCB by using a hot-bar soldering machine. High volume contract manufacturers will be familiar with this type of construction and its assembly methods. There are hot-bar soldering machines made that are designed for prototype, rework or repair work of TAB connections.

Summary:	Controller change for CFAF176220U series of LCD modules.
Description:	PUN for CFAF176220U series of TFT LCD modules due to controller change from Orise Technology OTM2201A to Sitronix ST7775R.
Reason:	The Orise Technology OTM2201A is not being used any longer. The display now uses a Sitronix ST7775R Controller.
Impact:	Because of the LCD controller change, a change to the initialization code is required. This change is pin-compatible with the previous version of this display, no change to the circuit will be necessary.
Recommendation:	Use code found on the module's web page on the Docs/Files tab as an example for the new controller.

Description:	We are changing our TFT part numbers to have them better describe the parts being ordered. The change should be complete for all TFT modules shipping within the next six months. Part numbers will change as follows: CFAF128160C-T will change to CFAF128160C-018T CFAF176220M-T will change to CFAF176220U-020T CFAF240320E-T will change to CFAF240320H-022T CFAF240320K-T-TS will change to CFAF240320K-024T-TS CFAF240320P-T will change to CFAF240320S-032T CFAF240400D-T will change to CFAF240400D-030T CFAF320240F-T will change to CFAF320240F-035T CFAF320240F-T-TS will change to CFAF320240F-035T-TS
Reason:	There are many TFT modules with the same logical dimensions (resolution) with considerably different sizes. In order to help ease any confusion, we have decided to add the diagonal dimension to the part number.
Impact:	The part number is all that is changing, there are no other changes to the parts, so there should be no significant impact.
Availability:	The transition period should be about six months from the date of this bulletin.
