While the Crystalfontz ePaper adapter board is great for initial prototype and evaluation, it can also be used in production. We have designed it for ease-of-use, low-cost, and to have a very thin assembled thickness of less than 5mm, including the e-Paper module. The board and module can be ordered as a single unit, assembled and tested.The Crystalfontz ePaper adapter board is open source hardware. The full schematic is available in the files section, so you can move the functionality onto your PCB for an even lower production cost.
This ePaper adapter board is compatible with our entire line of ePaper display modules. You can purchase them separately here or in a kit that includes the display with the adapter and an optional Seeeduino/Arduino compatible microcontroller, for a quick prototype or demonstration.

Why does my ePaper display not work with my ePaper Adapter Board?
When connecting an ePaper display to the ePaper Adapter Board, some users are seeing the busy line going low and not going high again. Luckily, there’s an easy fix.
Our ePaper Adapter Board CFA10084 is compatible with all our entire CFAP family of ePaper displays, but it does require a minor modification to work with some of our displays. There’s a jumper that can be closed to change the resistance between RESE and GND.
If you leave the jumper open and connect a display that needs it closed, the busy signal may not function as expected. The datasheet of each individual display will indicate whether the resistance between RESE and GND should be 3Ω (jumper open) or 0.47Ω (jumper closed).

reference the datasheet!
